tua yang sejak pagi tadi membelah pelepah sawit jadi potongan-potongan
kecil, seperti tanpa lelah memilah-milah
dan menyusun potongan kecil batang sawit dibawah sinar matahari terik siang
ini. Dialah pak Sahabuddin, lelaki tua berumur sekitar 70 tahun, anggota APBML
(Asosiasi Petani Barkah Mandiri) tersenyum lebar, meski terlihat sesekali
menyeka keringat dari dahinya. “Matahari Terik, bagus buat mengeringkan
kandungan air dalam pelepah sawit ini, biar tirainya nanti kuat.” Jelasnya.
TIBASA;
atau Tirai Pelepah Sawit, adalah salah satu inovasi yang dibuat oleh pak
Sihabuddin ini. Idenya muncul ketika dia membersihkan kebun sawitnya yang seluas
1,7 Ha, dan melihat banyak sekali pelepah yang berserakan dikebun. Muncul ide
untuk memanfaatkan pelepah sawit untuk dijadikan Tirai. Jika biasanya Tirai
terbuat dari Bambu atau Rotan, maka ditangan pak Sihabuddin, Tirai dibuat dari
Batang Sawit.
Beberapa
teman-temen pak Sihabuddin yang kebanyakan adalah manula, juga mulai merajut pelepah
sawit ini, tapi memang baru sekedar mengisi waktu saja, dan akan dijual jika
ada yang berminat. Kebanyakan Tibasa dibeli oleh warung-warung aja dengan harga
sesuai dengan kantong pembeli.
Untuk
menghasilkan 1 tirai, dibutuhkan 37-40 batang pelepah sawit tua, dan untuk
membuat 1 tirai dibutuhkan waktu sekitar 3 hari dengan tenaga sendiri. Tibasa
ini cukup kuat apalagi jika pengeringannya baik, dan dapat bertahan 3 sampai 4
tahun. Wah, hampir mirip dengan kekuatan Tirai dari bamboo.
Kedepan,
petani-petani di APBML akan mencoba memasarkan produk ini lebih luas, agar
dapat menjadi tambahan pendapatan petani-petani di APBML. Selain itu pula agar
dapat memanfaatkan limbah sawit yang tidak terpakai menjadi bernilai ekonomi.
“Kami ingin nanti ada mesin yang dapat membantu petani kami untuk membelah pelepah sawit, dan ada mesin pengering, agar bisa lebih baik kualitasnnya. Karena kalua musim hujan, penjemuran jadi tidak maksimal. Semoga ide ini bisa direalisasikan, dan anggota kami dapat mengurangi limbah dari kebun dan dapat pula meningkatkan pandapatan mereka.” Ungkap Sutrisno salah satu pengurus APBML.
